{"id":184,"date":"2018-09-25T14:58:47","date_gmt":"2018-09-25T09:58:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iparagons.com\/blog\/?p=184"},"modified":"2021-07-28T15:09:17","modified_gmt":"2021-07-28T10:09:17","slug":"the-solution-cannot-be-retrieved-when-trying-to-open-process-designer-from-workplacext","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iparagons.com\/blog\/2018\/09\/25\/the-solution-cannot-be-retrieved-when-trying-to-open-process-designer-from-workplacext\/","title":{"rendered":"The solution cannot be Retrieved When Trying to Edit Solution from Process Designer in WorkplaceXT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The solution cannot be retrieved, possibly because it is not a version 5.2 solution error is generated in IBM FileNet WorkplaceXT when trying to open Process Designer. or trying to edit solution&#8217;s case type.<\/p>\n<h3>Cause:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The error occurs after Case Manager is upgraded from a previous version.<\/li>\n<li>Case Manager Builder is configured to invoke Process Designer from Workplace XT.<\/li>\n<li>The Workplace XT configuration has not been updated with the new version of the ICMSolutionEdit.jar file.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Environment:<\/h3>\n<p>ICM 5.2.x \/ 5.3.x<\/p>\n<p>WorkplaceXT 1.1.5.2<\/p>\n<h3>Solution:<\/h3>\n<p>For the <span class=\"keyword\">Workplace XT<\/span> instance in a development pr production environment, additional configuration is required.&nbsp;These changes apply to the instance of <span class=\"keyword\">Workplace XT<\/span> that is used by <span class=\"keyword\">Case Manager Builder<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>To configure <span class=\"keyword\">Workplace XT<\/span> properly for editing solution in Process Designer for a development pr production environment, perform the following steps one by one:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span class=\"ph cmd\">On the <span class=\"keyword\">IBM Case Manager<\/span> server, navigate to the <strong><span class=\"ph filepath\">CaseManagement\/WorkplaceXTConfig<\/span><\/strong> directory.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"ph cmd\">Copy the following files:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"ph filepath\">ICMSolutionEdit.jar<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"ph filepath\">jaxb-api.jar<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"ph filepath\">jaxb-impl.jar<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"ph filepath\">weblogic.xml<\/span> (only for <span class=\"keyword\">WebLogic Server<\/span> environments)<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"ph filepath\">weblogic-application.xml<\/span> (only for <span class=\"keyword\">WebLogic Server<\/span> environments)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"ph cmd\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 3. On the <span class=\"keyword\">Workplace XT<\/span> server, navigate to <strong><span class=\"ph filepath\">WebClient\/WorkplaceXT\/WEB-INF\/lib<\/span><\/strong> directory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ph cmd\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 4. Paste the following files in the directory:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul ibm-colored-list ibm-textcolor-gray-80\">\n<li class=\"li\"><span class=\"ph filepath\">ICMSolutionEdit.jar<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li\"><span class=\"ph filepath\">jaxb-api.jar<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li\"><span class=\"ph filepath\">jaxb-impl.jar<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"ph cmd\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 5. For <span class=\"keyword\">WebLogic Server<\/span> systems, navigate to the <span class=\"ph filepath\">WebClient\/WorkplaceXT\/WEB-INF<\/span> directory and paste the copy of the <span class=\"ph filepath\">weblogic.xml<\/span> file into the directory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ph cmd\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 6. For <span class=\"keyword\">WebLogic Server<\/span> systems, navigate to the <span class=\"ph filepath\">WebClient\/deploy\/META-INF<\/span> directory and paste the copy of the <span class=\"ph filepath\">weblogic-application.xml<\/span> file into the directory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>7. You must manually redeploy <span class=\"keyword\">Workplace XT<\/span> on the web application server.<\/p>\n<p>8.
